MABEL EVANS On March 15, 2008 Mabel went to join her beloved husband Edward Lenard who predeceased her in February 1999. Mabel was the only child of William and Elizabeth Priest. Mabel's early years were spent in Transcona. In her teens she moved with her family to the west end of Winnipeg. After she completed her education, she went to join her Aunt Nel and worked in the library of the C.P. Hotel. It was here she met Ed. She returned to Winnipeg, took a position in the dress department at Eaton's until health problems forced her to leave. Mabel enjoyed the outdoors and spent many a happy year at her summer home in Ottermere, Ontario. On Ed's passing, Mabel went to live at River East Nursing Home. There she found a secure home with love, patience, and understanding. Their kindness to Mabel cannot be understated. Service was held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on March 31, 2008.
